National Family Assistance Scheme
Various schemes are run by the Gujarat government with the aim of helping the economically weaker sections of the society. In which the benefit of Sankat Mochan Sahai Yojana or National Family Sahai Yojana is provided by the Social Security Department in case of death of the main earner of the family living below poverty line (BPL) due to natural or accidental causes and to help the family by providing financial assistance in this sudden calamity/difficulty situation. .
Objective of National Family Assistance Scheme
We all know that when a key person in the family dies accidentally, a mountain of grief falls on the family.
When the main resource in the family turns to death, the family breaks down, so to face all these difficulties, Sankat Mochan Sahai Yojana has been launched by the Gujarat government.
Eligibility for availing this scheme
To avail Sankat Mochan Sahai Yojana, you can avail this scheme only if all the following sources are Americanized.
- The main devotee of the family must have died.
- You can avail the benefits under this Sankat Mochan Sahai Yojana in case of any natural or accidental death.
- The applicant should have a BPL ration card.
- The person who died i.e. the main person died should be between 18 years to 60 years of age.
- The main person in the family will be considered either male or female.
- To avail Sankat Mochan Sahay Yojana you can avail this scheme within two years of the death of the Chief Minister.
- It is necessary that the applicant should be a resident of Gujarat State.
- A family with a score of 0 to 20 under BPL (Poverty Line) is eligible for Sankat Mochan Sahai Yojana in case of death of the main earner (male or female) of the family due to natural or accidental causes.
- The age of deceased male or female should be more than 18 years and less than 60 years.
- To avail the Sankat Mochan Sahai Yojana, the beneficiary has to apply within 2 years of the death.
Benefit available under National Family Assistance Scheme
Under Sankat Mochan Sahay Yojana i.e. Rashtriya Kutumb Sahay Yojana Gujarat Yojana, a one time grant of Rs 20,000/- is paid to the family through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) on the death of the main earner.
